    During his work Denis Jelačić published 135 scientific and 56 professional papers, and 24 scientific books as author or co-author. Until now 31 of his articles are cited in international system for scientific information (ISI – Institute for Scientific Information).

    He was elected as Head of Department for production organization in 2008, he is a holder, he introduced or was a holder of 5 subjects on pre-graduate and graduate studies on Wood Technology Department of Faculty of Forestry University of Zagreb, and 2 subjects on post-graduate and doctor studies. He is a holder of 4 subjects on post-graduate specialist study Production organization. Also, Professor Jelačić was mentor on 75 diploma thesis, 1 master thesis and 1 PhD thesis.

    As a guest professor he spent 2 years at the Wood Science and Technology Faculty of Technical University in Zvolen (Slovak Republic) since February 2003.

    In 1996 Ministry of agriculture and forestry of Croatia appointed him a member of expert team for implementation of Helsinki resolution on protection of European forests (H3), and in 2002 as coordinator of Croatia in FAO/ECE team for public relations in forestry and wood processing. Since 2004 he is appointed by Ministry of agriculture and forestry a Croatian coordinator in UN/ECE Timber Committee.

    He is member of Croatian forestry society (Forestry society Zagreb), Croatian ecology society, Croatian society for operation management, Operational Research Society of Great Britain, and one of the founders, member and first secretary of International association for economics and management in wood processing and furniture manufacturing WoodEMA, i.a.

    At the moment, he is a member of editorial boards of 4 scientific journals in Croatia and abroad. He was awarded with Jubileum award by Rector of Technical University in Zvolen (Slovak Republic), Memorium letter by Dean of Wood Science and Technology Faculty of Technical University in Zvolen, and Memorium letter by Department for Enterprise Management at Wood Science and Technology Faculty of Technical University in Zvolen.

    He organized and actively participated with presentations on 62 scientific and professional conferences and meeting in country and abroad.
